Good Afternoon, We have received calls with questions about the Missouri SuN Bucks program. Missouri SuN Bucks is a grocery benefit program that helps combat childhood hunger by providing a one-time payment of $120 for each eligible school-aged child during the summer for groceries. Automatic Enrollment: Many children will automatically receive the benefit if they are already enrolled in SNAP, Temporary Assistance, or are classified as foster care, homeless, or a migrant. Find out more: www.fns.usda.gov/summer/sunbucks Application: Families who are not automatically enrolled may need to apply. The application deadline for 2025 is August 31. Find out more: www.fns.usda.gov/summer/sunbucks EBT Card: Benefits will be loaded onto an EBT card, either an existing SNAP card or a new one mailed to the household. If you have any other questions, please go to the Missouri SUN Bucks FAQs page for more information. https://mydss.mo.gov/missouri-sun-bucks-faqs

Summer Meals where kids eat free!
It has come to our attention that some lessons regarding gender identity that are NOT part of our Kingston curriculum were accessed by a student. This occurred as they were completing an online Health course. I want to take a moment to explain how this happened and to reassure our community that we are not teaching this subject as part of our curriculum. These lessons are part of a state approved Health course through an online program we use for credit recovery and virtual high school summer school credit. The program defaults to include these lessons and a school can opt to remove them as well as any other lesson that does not meet our curriculum. We intended to and should have removed them. We have already rectified the situation by removing them this evening. I assure you that I will investigate how this oversight happened and put safeguards in place to prevent future issues such as this. If you or your child come across anything you question in an online course or otherwise, please immediately reach out to your building principal and myself so that we can investigate. Once again, I apologize for this mistake and assure you that it was not intentional and we are not attempting as a school to teach these topics which are not part of our curriculum. As always, please contact me directly by phone at 573-438-4982 or email golden.mike@k-14.org if you have any further concerns.
